Good for laying out when you don't have a mat with markers or want to scan remotely - good to keep handy in your 3D scanning kit. I use them all the time. Harder to blow away in the wind than traditional cardboard or plastic cards. Works with creality, revopoint, einstar and other laser scanners that need markers for tracking.
